Projects

We apply project management methodology in all project contexts having witnessed the cost and downstream issues arising from lack of control within boatbuilding construction and repair contexts.

The issues in my experience tend to arise from a lack of detail in specification of vessels and a lack of administration in controlling scope (and related costs). This all to often then causes a blow out in cost and time which spirals into an all round unpleasant project result.

The issues are typical in engineering projects and generally well understood. I researched the level of specification in boatbuilding businesses throughout New Zealand as a Masters project.

With more time spent in planning and definition at the early stages and good legal agreements the chances of issues can be significantly reduced.

Please get in touch if you would like to discuss project design/specification and owner representation.
